MW: Treasurys gain, pushing yields back towards lows
By Deborah Levine
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Treasury prices rose on Wednesday, pushing yields back towards multi-month lows after rising on Tuesday on a return of investor confidence in economic growth. Still, many bond investors question the recovery and say bond yields can stay low or move down. Yields on 10-year notes (UST10Y 2.61, -0.03, -1.29%) , which move inversely to prices, fell 4 basis points to 2.60%, after touching the lowest since March 2009 earlier this week. "The market has a minor bid led by 10-year notes after a fairly actively night with no new information but some okay Japanese and central bank buying," said strategists at CRT Capital Group.
