RTTN: Dollar Mixed Ahead Of US Weekly Jobless Claims, Q2 Non-farm Productivity Data
(RTTNews) - At 8:30 am ET, the US Department of Labor will release its customary weekly jobless claims report for the weekended August 21. Economists expect weekly jobless claims to rise to 475,000 from 473,000 reported for the previous week.
At the same time, the Labor Department will release its revised report on second quarter non-farm productivity and unit labor costs. Economists project the productivity growth be revised down by 1.6%.
Ahead of the data, the US dollar showed mixed trading against major rivals. While the greenback edged slightly higher against the euro and the pound, it weakened against the Swiss franc and held steady versus the yen.
Currently, the dollar is quoted at 1.5388 against the pound, 1.0111 against the Swiss franc, 84.14 versus the yen and 1.2814 against the euro.
