The production of nickel has increased by 4.3% since 2009 and the production of stainless steel has increased by 11.2%.
The trend will lead to a small supply deficit of 50,000 tonnes of nickel in 2010. This year, the nickel price in the steel market should be between USD 20,000 to USD 23,000 per tonne.
