MW: Crude-oil futures edge lower, under $74 a barrel

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Oil prices meandered under $74 a barrel Monday as traders awaited gauges on the U.S. economy and supply data in assessing demand. Benchmark crude for October delivery declined 7 cents to $73.59 a barrel in electronic trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract fell 91 cents to end at $73.66 on Friday.
