MSN: Platinum hits four-month highs, up for sixth day

LONDON, Sept 20 (Reuters) - Platinum prices rose for a sixth consecutive session on Monday, set for their longest rally since early January, to reach four-month highs as broad-based dollar weakness lifted the industrial commodities complex.

Spot platinum rose to $1,631.00 an ounce, its highest since May 20 this year. The price then fell immediately back to $1,624.00 an ounce by 1148 GMT, but still showed a 0.4 percent gain on the day.

Other industrial commodities such as copper and crude oil also rose as the dollar came under broad pressure.

Gold meanwhile hovered near record highs above $1,280.00 an ounce. (Reporting by Amanda Cooper; Editing by Alison Birrane)
