FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- European stocks dropped on Wednesday, reversing their early gains, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index (ST:SXXP 263.02, -1.99, -0.75%) falling 0.9%. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 index (UK:UKX 5,550, -26.10, -0.47%) and Germany's DAX-30 index (DX:DAX 6,239, -36.89, -0.59%) both declined 0.7%. Shares of German car maker Daimler AG (DE:DAI 44.53, -0.84, -1.84%) fell 1.7% and those of Barclays PLc (UK:BARC 306.60, -5.00, -1.61%) dropped 1.6%.
