FX: European open; The dollar was trading flat to slightly weaker in Asia Thursday, though stuck in narrow ranges against most major currencies due to holiday closures in many trading centers in the region, including in South Korea, Hong Kong, China and Japan. Dollar-yen currently at Y84.60 into early Europe, barely changed from Y84.55 overnight in the US, with trade through Asia contained within a range of Y84.47/64. Euro-yen trades around Y113.35 vs Y113.24 NY close, trade contained overnight within Y113.14/42. Euro-dollar opens Europe around $1.3398, up slightly compared with its $1.3394 NY close, with trade in Asia restricted to $1.$1.3383/1.3414. Kiwi was the worst performer overnight, squeezed lower after the release of disappointing Q2 GDP data, Kiwi-dollar eased from $0.7382 to $0.7307, opening Europe around $0.7330. Aussie trade was contained within $0.9526/74 with interest noted in Aussie-Cad on developments in the Potash/BHP Billiton M&A attempt. Eurozone flash PMI's from 0658GMT ahead of US weekly jobless claims the day's highlight data releases.
