MW: Oil dips below $74 a barrel on rising U.S. supply

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Oil fell under $74 a barrel on Thursday as the U.S. dollar gained and rising inventories underlined thoughts of weak demand. Benchmark crude for November delivery fell 66 cents to $74.05 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Merchantile Exchange. The contract on Wednesday fell 26 cents to end at $74.71.
