Indian rupee remained higher in late trade Wednesday as the dollar fell further abroad.
The partially convertible rupee was seen trading at 44.91 a dollar at 3.30 p.m, compared with Tuesday’s close of 45.15 a dollar.
The dollar fell to its lowest in two weeks against the yen on Wednesday as speculators' stepped up selling the greenback on expectations for further quantitative easing by the Federal Reserve.
The index of the dollar .DXY against six major currencies was down 0.4 percent. Most Asian currencies too were stronger compared to the dollar.
