MW: Natural gas adds to losses after inventories gain

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Natural gas for November delivery modestly added to losses Thursday after the Energy Information Administration reported a bigger increase in supply of the fuel than some analysts had expected. The EIA said nat gas stockpiles rose 85 billion cubic feet in the week ended Oct. 1. Analysts polled by Platts were expecting a net injection of 74 billion to 78 billion cubic feet. Natural gas for November delivery fell 14 cents, or 3.8%, to $3.715 per million British thermal units. Ahead of the report, natural gas was off 6 cents at $3.80 per million British thermal units.
