RTTN: US Dollar Eases From 3-day High Versus South African Rand
(RTTNews) - After hitting a 3-day high of 6.9373 at about 6:40 am ET, the US currency traded lower against its South African counterpart during New York morning deals on Friday. As of now, the greenback is trading near 6.8565, compared to yesterday's close of 6.8837.
The U.S. Labor Department released a report today showed that unemployment rate came in at 9.6 percent in September, unchanged from the previous month. The unemployment rate had been expected to edge up to 9.7 percent.
The Labor Department also said that non-farm payroll employment fell by 95,000 jobs in September following a revised decrease of 57,000 jobs in August.
