RTTN: Dollar Ticks Up Amid U.S. Leading Index, Philly Fed Index Data
(RTTNews) - Following the release of Conference Board's leading index for September and the Philadelphia Federal Reserve's manufacturing survey for October at 10:00 am ET, the US dollar edged slightly higher against its major counterparts.
Currently, the greenback is quoted at 1.5768 against the pound, 0.9640 versus the Swiss franc, 81.17 against the yen and 1.4008 against the euro.
The Conference Board said its Leading Economic Index (LEI) for the U.S. increased 0.3 percent in September to 110.4, following a 0.1 percent increase in August, and a 0.2 percent increase in July.
Philadelphia Federal Reserve data showed that the diffusion index of current activity, increased from a reading of -0.7 in September to 1.0 in October.
