NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Shares of energy stocks dropped on Tuesday. The NYSE Arca Oil Index (XOI 1,083, -4.53, -0.42%) fell 0.4% to 1,083. The NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG 540.83, -3.44, -0.63%) dipped 0.5% to 542. The Philadelphia Oil Service Index (OSX 206.75, -0.01, -0.01%) rose fractionally to 207. Valero (VLO 17.71, -0.06, -0.34%) fell 0.5% to $17.69. National Oilwell Varco (NOV 50.93, +2.96, +6.17%) jumped 6.3% to $50.97. |
