MW: Oil and natural gas producers dip, drillers rise

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Shares of natural gas and oil producers fell on Wednesday, while oil service shares held on for gains despite a downdraft in the broad equities market. The NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG 535.52, -5.03, -0.93%) dropped 0.8% to 536. The NYSe Arca Oil Index (XOI 1,079, -9.63, -0.89%) fell 0.4% to 1,079. The Philadelphia Oil Service Index (OSX 208.66, +1.90, +0.92%) rose 0.7% to 210. ConocoPhillips (COP 59.72, -1.66, -2.70%) dropped 1.8%.
