LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European stocks opened lower on Friday, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index (ST:SXXP 265.45, -0.45, -0.17%) dropping 0.2% to 265.33. Among the main regional indexes, France's CAC-40 index (FR:PX1 3,829, -5.97, -0.16%) fell 0.2% to 3,828.51 and Germany's DAX 30 index (DX:DAX 6,585, -10.19, -0.16%) slipped 0.2% to 6,581.98. Shares of French oil giant Total SA (TOT 54.40, +0.85, +1.59%) (FR:FP 38.86, -0.20, -0.51%) dropped 0.6% in the wake of the firm's results. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 index (UK:UKX 5,671, -7.07, -0.13%) fell 0.2% to 5,668. Shares of British Airways (UK:BAY 281.00, +0.30, +0.11%) gained 0.1% after the airline reported a return to profit. |
