MW: Crude, gold rise as dollar dips on election day

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Crude oil and gold futures rose firmly on Tuesday, as the dollar dropped and investors embraced risk in equities while U.S. voters prepared for midterm elections and the Federal Reserve began its two-day meeting. Crude oil for December delivery was recently up 1.3% at $84.02 a barrel. Gold for delivery the same month gained 0.5% to $1,357.90 an ounce.
