TOP: BP is once more making profits after the oil spill

BP has capitalized on the better than expected earnings that it saw in its third quarter and that is making one thing clear that the company has left behind its worst days of the oil spill and its business is bouncing back.

The company however did not witness the figures of the previous year in the third quarter of this year still the firm is back on its path of profits after experiencing the devastating explosion of its oil rig called Deepwater Horizon in the month of April in the Gulf of Mexico for which its second quarter profits tumbled into the red.

The net income of the firm in its third quarter fell to one decimal seven nine billion dollar from the figure of five decimal three four billion dollar in the July- September quarter of the previous year.

In spite of bearing a cost of seven decimal seven billion dollar for the spill the company could make profits in its third quarter which is praiseworthy. The charge was much higher than what the analysts have anticipated. It also reminded the company of the devastating disaster that continuously took its toll.

In spite of all these the report encouraged the BP executive who could see seeds of hopes in that.

Bb Dudley, the CEO of the firm stated on Tuesday that the reports pointed out that BP is once again tracked for recovery.

BP had to struggle a lot to hold the legal, financial and political battle for the blow out of its Macondo well which killed eleven workers and caused a spill of five million barrels of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico before the leak of the well got fixed in the middle of July.
