AP: Euro little changed as debt worries persist

BERLIN (AP) -- The euro is barely changed against the dollar as worries persist over the possibility of Ireland needing a bailout and after the Group of 20 summit refused to endorse a U.S. push to get China to let its currency rise.

The 16-nation euro bought $1.3652 in Friday morning European trading, just below the $1.3658 it bought in New York late Thursday.

On Thursday, the euro lost more than a cent amid worries about the debt problems of Ireland and other eurozone countries.

The pound slipped to $1.6060 from $1.6114 as a survey showed British consumer confidence remaining low, but the dollar declined to 81.92 Japanese yen from 82.43 yen.

The G-20 summit in Seoul ended with a statement saying only that leaders agreed to refrain from "competitive devaluation" of currencies.
