NEW YORK, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices slid overnight on the New York Mercantile Exchange, stumbling on their way toward the $90 per barrel mark.
Prices topped $88 per barrel earlier in the week on positive manufacturing and trade data from China. But sentiment shifted on concerns the People's Bank of China could raise interest rates to slow growth, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
December delivery crude oil gave up $1.43 to hit $86.38 per barrel Friday morning. Heating oil prices shed 2.88 cents to $2.3978 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock prices lost 0.26 cents to $2.2331 per gallon.
Henry Hub natural gas prices lost 3.8 cents to $3.889 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline rose to $2.876 per gallon from Thursday's $2.864, AAA said.
