BLBG: U.S. Stock Futures Fall After Yonhap Report of North Korea Artillery Fire

U.S. stock-index futures dropped, indicating the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index may fall for a second day, after Yonhap News reported North Korea had fired artillery shells near the western border with South Korea.

December contracts on the S&P 500 lost 0.8 percent to 1,188.60 as of 2:32 p.m. in Hong Kong. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures retreated 75 points, or 0.7 percent, to 11,090 and Nasdaq-100 Index futures fell 0.6 percent to 2,141.75.

Most of the shells fell into the water, with some landing on an island, Yonhap News reported, without saying where it got the information. Calls to the Ministry of National Defense in Seoul weren’t answered.
