WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Among the companies whose shares are expected to see active trade in Monday’s session are Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group DTG -0.23% Inc., Churchill Downs Inc., AES Corp. and Tyson Foods Inc.
Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group DTG -0.23% received a rival acquisition bid from Hertz Global Holdings Inc. HTZ +0.60% valued at $72 a share in cash and Hertz stock. Dollar Thrifty shareholders rejected a prior Hertz bid last year, with an offer from Avis Budget Group Inc. CAR +0.88% for Dollar Thrifty on the table and awaiting federal regulatory action.
AES Corp. AES 0.00% affirmed its 2011 profit outlook as the company reported first-quarter earnings from continuing operations of 30 cents a share and adjusted earnings of 22 cents a share, as opposed to a 27-cent consensus in a survey of analysts by FactSet Research. Quarterly revenue for the power-generation company increased to more than $4.26 billion from the prior year’s $3.92 billion, in part due to currency translations.
Churchill Downs CHDN -0.94% , on the heels of the Kentucky Derby that drew a record-setting turnout, is likely to report a loss of 32 cents a share for the first quarter, according to the FactSet-derived consensus.
Tyson TSN -1.72% is expected to report second-quarter earnings of 43 cents a share.
Also Monday, Sothebys Holdings Inc. BID -0.35% is projected to report first-quarter earnings of 3 cents a share.
Activision Blizzard Inc. ATVI +1.60% is forecast to report first-quarter earnings of 7 cents a share.
Sempra Energy SRE +0.92% is expected to post first-quarter earnings of 97 cents a share.
PetMed Express Inc. PETS +0.62% is projected to report fourth-quarter earnings of 22 cents a share.
Rosetta Stone Inc. RST +0.07% is forecast to report a loss of 33 cents a share for the first quarter.
Sysco Corp. SYY -0.49% is expected to post third-quarter earnings of 41 cents a share.
