* BOTSWANA - Botswana central bank to issue results of its Treasury bill auction.
* KENYA - Ministry of Energy holds a news conference, most likely to revolve around the prospect of rises in fuel prices later in the month.
* GUINEA - First of a two-day mining symposium. Among the main topics will be Guinea's draft mining code that calls for increased state share in mining interests and tougher measures for securing concessions.

GLOBAL MARKETS
Oil prices slid after a 25 percent hike in trading margins for U.S. crude spread caution among traders about volatile commodity prices, while Greek woes pulled the euro down to a six-week low against the yen on Tuesday. [ID:nL3E7GA09C]

IVORY COAST

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS
South African rand weakened against the dollar on Monday, giving up its earlier gains partly on Reserve Bank and importers' demand for dollar. [ID:nLDE7481XV]
NIGERIA MARKETS
Nigerian banking stocks extended gains buoyed by optimism by 2010 and first-quarter results showing most lenders returning to profitability and by a bullish report on the sector by Renaissance Capital.
The banks outperformed the all-share index .NGSEINDEX, which closed down fractionally at 25,262.50 points.
Also, the naira NGN=D1 eased against the dollar on the interbank market on Monday after the central bank sold dollars at a higher rate than last week at its foreign exchange auction. [ID:nLDE7481IS]
NIGERIA AMNESTY
A radical Islamist sect in remote northeastern Nigeria, blamed for almost daily killings and attacks, on Monday rejected an offer of an amnesty. [ID:nLDE74828N]
KENYA MARKETS
The Nairobi Stock Exchange's benchmark NSE-20 share index .NSE20 was little changed, inching down 0.03 percent to 4,035.26 points on Monday, while the all share index .NASI was down 0.46 percent to end at 94.88 points.
The shilling KES= closed at 84.55/65 against the dollar, its weakest since April 6 and compared with Friday's close of 84.15/25.
Also, Kenya's stock market will rise this week supported by local investors locking in shares in a number of companies due to pay dividends, while a further boost may come from rising demand for banks which report first-quarter results this month. [ID:nLDE7481B5]
KENYA BONDS
Central Bank of Kenya said on Monday it was offering a new 20-year, and re-opened a 10-year and a two-year treasury bonds for sale to raise up to 18 billion shillings ($223.6 million). [ID:nWEA9469]
