RTRS:Rupee up on strong euro, Asians, eyes dlr inflows
(Reuters) - The rupee rose on Wednesday tracking gains in the euro and Asian currencies, and hopes of robust inflows towards share sale of Power Finance Corp.
* At 9:47 a.m., the partially convertible rupee was at 44.6775/6800 per dollar as against Tuesday's close of 44.74/75.
* The euro maintained overnight gains on Wednesday, helped by stabilising commodity prices and chances of another aid package for Greece, with some market players saying selling based on worries about Greece could subside even though the currency is likely to remain vulnerable to any negative news about it and other financially strained countries.
* The euro was at $1.4403 and the index of the dollar against six major currencies was down 0.07 percent at 74.561 points.
* The common European unit was at $1.4348 at end of trade in local forex trade on Tuesday while the index had been at 74.722 points.
* Power Finance Corp, which opened its share sale on Tuesday, intends to raise up to $1 billion. The offering closes on Thursday for institutional investors and a day later for retail bidders.
