PTI: Select base metals continues to slide on global cues
 
New Delhi, Jun 1 (PTI) Select base metal prices continued to decline for third straight day by losing up to Rs 5 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on sluggish industrial demand on the back of a weakening global trend.
Market analysts said trading sentiments remained bearish as copper in London declined after reports showed a slow down in the pace of manufacturing growth in China, raising concern that demand may drop in the world''s largest metal user.
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery fell by 0.4 per cent to USD 9,181 and nickel shed one per cent to USD 23,350 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap remained under selling pressure and lost Rs 2 each to Rs 508, Rs 531 and Rs 491 per kg, respectively.
Tin ingot and zinc ingot declined by Rs 2 each to Rs 846 and Rs 135.50 per kg, respectively.
Nickel (4x4) also lost Rs 5 to Rs 1,066-1,068 per kg.
