PAIV:Elementos intersects high grade gold zone at Manantiales in Argentina

Elementos (ASX: ELT) has intersected more high grade gold at the Manantiales gold-silver project in San Juan Province, Argentina, with the latest high grade gold intersections.
What is significant about Manantiales, is the extension of the high grade gold zone within the Manantial vein, in two new drill holes.
The latest diamond drilling highlights include:
- 11.68 metres at 2.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 5.8g/t silver from 146 metres;
- 3.45 metres at 5.04g/t gold and 11.8g/t silver from 154 metres;
- 6.7 metres at 2.26g/t gold and 7.4g/t silver from 119 metres.
Importantly, the new drill holes have expanded the size of the high-grade gold system, with the minimum strike length extended to 120 metres and mineralisation down to 150 metres, which both remain open.
In addition to the high-grade results, drilling has demonstrated that the high-grade mineralisation is surrounded by a large and continuous low-grade gold envelope of; 0.2g/t average gold grade, 5 to 20 metres wide.
This envelope which increases the overall size of the system, which Elemetos said provides encouragement that the mineralisation is widespread.
Drilling has been extensive at the project so far, with ten diamond holes completed for 2045 metres, with assays still pending for half of the holes.
Exploration will ramp up in stage two, which is expected to comprise 25 holes totalling up to 4,000 metres, with an option for an additional 1,000 metres.
Elementos is targeting an expansion to the known mineralisation at the Manantial vein, while testing for extensions.
The company will also look to identify vertical extensions of mineralisation at La Puerta and La Puerta Este, where surface channel sampling has intersected high-grade gold and silver in vein systems exposed on the surface.

The prospectivity of the San Juan Province
The San Juan Province where Elementos is operating remains highly prospective with several some major mines.
Barrick Gold's (NYSE: ABX) 12 million gold ounce Veladero mine is located to the north, with the Yamana Gold (NYSE: AUY) 2.9 million gold ounce Gualcamayo to the north-east, and the Antofagasta (LON: ANTO) 69.9 billion pound copper Los Pelambres mine to the west.
Adjacent to Manantiales is the Troy Resources (ASX: TRY) Casposo mine, which has a resource of 0.4 million gold ounces and 17 million silver ounces.
Manantiales covers 97 square kilometres, with supporting regional infrastructure.
With the high grade gold system extended down to 150 metres at depth, there is still potential for the Manantial vein to host a larger epithermal system at depth, based on geophysics and geochemistry results.
