BLBG:Oil Drops 0.3 Percent in New York Trading; Brent Crude Is Little Changed
Crude for July delivery fell 29 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $101.64 in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange at 3:43 p.m. Sydney time. The contract earlier rose as much as 0.2 percent to $102.15, near the highest level this month. New York crude is up 1.4 percent this week and 35 percent the past year.
Brent oil for July delivery gained 8 cents, or 0.1 percent, to $119.65 a barrel on the London-based ICE Futures Europe exchange after earlier rising as much as 0.4 percent. The contract yesterday increased $1.72, or 1.5 percent, to $119.57, the highest settlement since May 4.
