PAIV:Predictive Discovery gets busy exploring for gold in Burkina Faso

West African gold focussed, Predictive Discovery (ASX: PDI) has received encouraging results from augur drilling, that have extended the gold anomaly on the Dave Prospect, part of the ElDore JV in Burkina Faso.
Total length of the anomaly has been extended to 1.6 kilometres and is open to the west.
A 7,000 metre reverse circulation drill program on both the Dave and Dave East Prospects has now commenced, testing two large areas of gold anomalies in weathered bedrock that coincide with a major structure interpreted from aeromagnetic data.
Predictive's managing director, Paul Roberts is encouraged by the results, upgrading the potential of Dave and Dave East prospect, "to host a significant gold deposit".
Interestingly, a number of areas of significant gold anomalism were indicated by Predictive during work at the Laterite Hill Grid in 2010 including a 3 kilometres long plus 50 parts per billion (ppb) anomaly which includes the Laterite Hill prospect and a 1.4 kilometre long plus 50ppb anomaly surrounding the Dave prospect.
The peak value obtained from weathered bedrock was 4,000ppb gold. These results do tend to confirm the potential revealed in previous RC drilling by Emerging African Gold where a series of ore grade and width gold intercepts were returned over an area of 700 metres by 80 metres to a vertical depth of 43 metres.
The historic drilling by Emerging African Gold in 1996-97 of the Dave Prospect returned 12 metres at 5.0 grams per tonne gold from 12 metres, 2 metres at 9.4g/t gold from 40 metres and 10 metres at 2.4g/t gold from 39 metres.
Predictive was well resourced at March quarter with $6.7 million in cash and no debt. It listed on the ASX in November 2010.
Burkina Faso is the major focus of Predictive’s exploration activities.
A number of significant gold discoveries have been made in Burkina Faso over the past decade, six of which are now in production. The country has a mining law that encourages exploration and development.
Predictive has been working there since early 2008 and has established a local office with field staff and with local contacts, is in a strong position to acquire more ground.
It has assembled a ground position in Burkina Faso totalling 1,544 square kilometres including tenement areas under application. It was selected through a country wide analytical assessment over the past three years that prioritised favourable mineralised geological structures and greenstone belts.
This led Predictive to its Bonsiega project, which includes the Laterite Hill Grid, Dave and Dave East prospects in the Fada N’Gourma greenstone belt situated in the east of the country and along strike from the Samira Hill gold mine, just inside Niger to the north-east.
