MW: Fed talks on inflation targets 'active': report

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The Federal Reserve is holding "active and serious" discussions on adopting a formal inflation target, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the discussions. Fed presidents including the Atlanta Fed's Dennis Lockhart have started talking again about the benefits of an explicit inflation target, as well as the negative public relations impact from the central bank's frequent discussion of core inflation.
