PAIV:Hummingbird Resources extends gold mineralisation at Dugbe
Hummingbird Resources (LON:HUM) announced that the latest gold assay results from the exploration drilling campaign along the Dugbe Shear Zone in Liberia extended known gold mineralisation.
In addition to that, first assays from diamond core drilling west into Joe Village licence area show increasing grades.
“We are delighted to see the continuation of the Dugbe F structure at increasing grades into Joe Village and the implications of this for a significant resource upgrade expected in Q3. We currently have three drill rigs working at full capacity on this project,” said chief executive of Hummingbird Resources Daniel Betts.
Assays have been received from further 19 holes. The company highlighted intersections of 3.13 metres grading 6.82 grammes per tonne (g/t) gold at Joe Village, 7.32 metres at 2.26 g/t, 9 metres at 2.09 g/t, 12.18 metres at 1.50 g/t and 11 metres at 1.67 g/t.
Other intersection included 8.99 metres at 1.5 g/t, 6.04 metres at 1.75 g/t, 8.47 metres at 1.49 g/t and 9.21 metres at 1.57 g/t.
Core from an additional 34 holes has also been recovered and is currently being processed and assayed.
The company continues drilling west along the mineralised area, following a direction indicated by extensive soil sampling and the mineralisation seen in drill core.
The current NI43-101 resource of 812,000 ounces of gold was established from trenching and 88 completed holes at the Dugbe licence area located within the DSZ during 2010.
