Gasoline prices dropped by almost 7 cents a gallon this week in the Pittsburgh region.
The average cost for a gallon of regular, self-serve unleaded is $3.646 in Western Pennsylvania, the AAA Fuel Gauge said Tuesday. Pittsburgh's average price is $3.721. Greensburg's average is $3.683. Last week's average across the region was $3.714.
Crude oil supplies fell for a third week, the longest stretch of declines this year, as refineries raised gasoline output to the highest level in nine months to meet demand, a Bloomberg News survey showed.
Crude oil for July delivery rose 14 cents to settle at $93.40 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The July contract expired Tuesday. August futures increased 54 cents, or 0.6 percent, to $94.17.
