LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European stock markets held broadly steady in early trading Friday, having rallied sharply in the previous two sessions amid relief over Greece. Bank stocks were mostly higher, including a 0.9% gain for Lloyds Banking Group PLC UK:LLOY +9.73% LYG +10.25% as it extended the previous session's rally. Among fallers, car makers were mostly weaker, including a 0.9% drop for Renault SA FR:RNO +0.69% . The Stoxx Europe 600 index XX:SXXP +1.13% was unchanged at 272.87, the U.K. FTSE 100 index UK:UKX +0.12% rose 0.2% to 5,954.69, the French CAC 40 index FR:PX1 +1.48% slipped 0.1% to 3,979.07 and the German DAX 30 index DX:DAX +1.13% was broadly steady at 7,373.87.
