Gas prices in Maryland were down a nickel from last week heading into the holiday weekend- with the average price at the pump last Friday $3.57 a gallon.
A month ago it was $3.76 and last year on the Fourth of July the price in Maryland averaged $2.67 a gallon. Prices have been trending steadily downward since early June. The fluctuating gasoline prices is something Allegany County tourism representatives are watching closely as they are sure to impact the local tourism industry as the summer season is now in full swing.
