MUMBAI, JULY 6:
The rupee strengthened by 7 paise to Rs 44.36 per dollar in the early trade at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market today, supported by the dollar’s weakness against other Asian currencies.
The domestic unit ended flat at Rs 44.43/44 against the US dollar in yesterday’s volatile trade even as the US currency rose in the overseas markets amid weakness in the domestic stock market.
Forex dealers said the dollar’s weakness against the euro and other Asian currencies mainly supported the rupee’s rise against the American dollar.
