PAIV:Kidman Resources hits high grade copper, extends mineralisation at Blind Calf prospect
Kidman Resources (ASX: KDR) has discovered a new high grade copper lode from drilling below the Blind Calf shaft in central New South Wales, with mineralisation extended down dip by 60 metres and open at depth.
Results from the current 18 hole Phase 3 drilling program are significant as the lode identified is 110 meters north of previously discovered Dunbar Lodes which intersected 23 metres at 7.07 % copper (Cu).
Highlights include:
- 12 metres at 2.02% Cu and 1.98 grams per tonne (g/t) silver (Ag) from 97 metres, including;
- 4 metres at 3.85% Cu with 4.35g/t Ag from 105 metres; and
- 13 metres at 2.18% Cu and 2.56g/t Ag from 72 metres, including;
- 3 metres at 4.6% Cu with 6.6g/t Ag from 81 metres.
The results further extend Kidman’s understanding of earlier intersections of copper mineralisation at the Blind Calf prospect and the company is awaiting additional assay results.
In addition to Blind Calf, Kidman has also delineated high grade copper lodes at Dunbars (four individual copper lodes plus a lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), Ag lense to the west) and Hilltop (three individual copper lodes with further assays pending in this drilling round).
The current strike extent at the high-grade Dunbar Lode is about 40 metres and remains open down plunge.
The company has started preliminary planning for a more extensive follow up diamond drilling campaign and has applied for and received approvals for this next round.
Kidman is also considering a program of detailed geophysical surveys including IP and EM (3D) to identify further hidden lenses typical of Cobar style deposits such as the Dunbar Lodes.
