KARACHI: The rupee ended steady against dollar on Friday amid grim law and order situation in the city, dealers said.
The dealers said that a few traders were seen attending the market, while the shops remained partially closed amid a protest call by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). The fresh wave of violence in city has claimed over 70 lives in the last four days.
The rupee ended 85.82 to a dollar from previous dayís close of 85.83. Experts said that the deteriorating law and order situation would have a negative impact on the local currency. “If the situation remains unchanged in coming days, the greenback may go up,” an expert said.
