RTRS: Silver rallies more than 5 pct as gold hits record
Silver rallied more than 5 percent on Wednesday on the back of soaring gold prices, which hit record highs above $1,585 an ounce after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said the U.S. central bank was ready to ease monetary policy further if the economy failed to strengthen.
Spot silver was up 5.7 percent at $38.09 1443 GMT, its highest level since June 1. (Reporting by Jan Harvey; editing by James Jukwey)
