Mumbai: Gold price scaled fresh highs at the bullion market here on Wednesday on heavy buying by stockists and huge investment appetite triggered by ongoing global surge.
Gold had last hit an all time record high on April 30. Silver witnessed a smart rebound after its overnight steep fall on hectic speculative buildup.
Standard gold (99.5 purity) spurted by Rs 295 per 10 grams to finish at Rs 22,750 from Tuesday’s closing level of Rs 22,455. Pure gold (99.9 purity) also jumped by a similar margin of Rs 295 per 10 grams to end at Rs 22,855 as against Rs 22,560 previously.
Silver ready (.999 fineness) shot up by Rs 1,850 per kg to close at Rs 54,885 from yesterday’s closing level of Rs 53,035.
