SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- The dollar weakened Thursday to trade below the 75 level, pressured after Moody's Investors Service late Wednesday said it placed the U.S. government's bond rating on review for possible downgrade. The dollar index DXY -0.08% , which measures the greenback's performance against a basket of six global currencies, fell to 74.862, from 75.213 before the Moody's warning. The euro EURUSD +0.55% rose to $1.4236, from $1.4140 late Wednesday.
