RTRS: Peru cenbank offers to buy dollars as sol gains
Peru's central bank offered to buy dollars on Monday as the sol currency PEN=PE bid at 2.737 per U.S. dollar, its strongest intraday level since April 18, 2008.
Peru's markets rallied after President-elect Ollanta Humala said on Sunday Central Bank President Julio Velarde would stay in his post, the clearest sign yet Humala will govern as a moderate. (Reporting by Ursula Scollo)
