BLBG:Total Plans to Drill Three Gas Exploration Wells Off Australia in 2012
Total SA (FP), Europe’s third-biggest oil company, said it plans to drill three exploration wells off northwest Australia next year targeting natural gas.
Total, Inpex Corp. (1605)’s partner in the proposed Ichthys liquefied natural gas project, expects the drilling in the Browse Basin to start between the first and third quarters of 2012, according to documents filed today on the Australian Environment Department’s website. The company plans to drill in an area about 475 kilometers (295 miles) north of Broome.
