Heraldsun : THE Australian dollar was around one US cent higher at noon after an overnight rally on the back of positive sentiment from Europe's approval of a second Greek bailout.

At noon, the Australian dollar was trading at 108.36 US cents, up from 107.38 US cents on Thursday afternoon.

Since 06:00 (AEST), the local unit traded between 108.43 US cents and 108.211 US cents.

The leaders of 17 European countries and the International Monetary Fund agreed overnight to give Greece a second bailout worth 109 billion euros ($145 billion), on top of the 110 billion euros ($146 billion) already granted a year ago.
