RTRS:Dollar falls to record low vs Swiss franc, 4-month low vs yen
(Reuters) - The dollar fell to an all-time low against the Swiss franc and a four-month low versus the Japanese yen on Monday as delays in reaching a deal to raise the U.S. debt ceiling unsettled investors and fueled demand for perceived safe-haven assets.
The dollar slipped across the board, falling roughly 2 percent on the day to high a lifetime trough of 0.8029 Swiss franc, according to EBS data, as investors plowed into the safe-haven Swiss currency.
It also dropped to a low of 78.05 yen on EBS, the lowest since mid-March, adding to speculation the Bank of Japan may intervene in the market to curb yen strength.
