MW:Gold, silver futures slip in electronic trading

FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- The European Commission's economic sentiment indicator for the euro zone fell to 103.2 in July, down from 105.4 in June and the lowest since a 102.2 reading last August. Economists had forecast a more modest decline to 104. The commission's consumer confidence index declined to -11.2 in July from -9.7, while the industry sentiment index fell to 1.1 from 3.5. The services index dropped to 7.9 from 10.1. The retail trade index dropped to -3.5 from -2.6 in June, while the construction index dropped to -24.5 from -23.5.
