KT:Gold prices rise as Washington turmoil continues
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV)- As the struggle continues on Capitol Hill the U.S. dollar is losing some of it's value as the world's trust shifts to something more secure; gold. The price of gold has steadily gone up for some time now, but this week some gold exchange stores say the mess in Washington has more people coming into their stores.
Right now gold is worth more than $1,600 an ounce. For those who are selling now may be the time to unload of any old or unwanted jewelry.
"The skies the limit. It all depends on where we sit at as a government. If the government continues to have these kind of situations with them not agreeing between parties, obviously the metals, with regards to the precious metals, will continue increasing," says Javier Cruz-Rodriguez, of Cash for Gold of Las Vegas.
The bad part of all of this is that if one is buying gold the price is higher, but jewelers say the price could drop down again in the future.
