NI:Rupee down by six paise at 44.34 against US dollar
The rupee slipped by six paise at 44.34 against the US dollar in the opening trade today following fresh dollar demand from importers, dealers at the Interbank Foreign Exchange said.
The domestic unit recorded the day's high and low at 44.36 and 44.29 per US dollar, respectively.
The domestic unit was seen weak owing to fresh dollar demand from importers and sliding equity market, dealers said.
It had slumped by 21 paise yesterday at 44.28 against the American currency.
