MW:Gold futures extend climb into record territory
FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures continued to march into record territory Wednesday, with gold for December delivery rising to a high of $1,675.90 an ounce in electronic trade on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. In recent action, December gold futures GC1Z +1.49% were up $26.20 an ounce at $1,670.70. Gold had set a record high on Tuesday as worries about the strength of the U.S. and global economic recovery spurred safe-haven demand for the metal.
