(RTTNews) - The Chinese yuan that fell to a 6-day low of 6.4436 against the US dollar in Asian deals on Thursday at 1:15 am ET moved off thereafter. The yuan is now worth 6.4399 per dollar, compared to yesterday's close of 6.4353.
The People's Bank of China set today's central parity rate for the yuan at a fresh record high of 6.4386 per dollar, compared to Wednesday's daily reference rate of 6.4441.
The Chinese central bank sets the central parity rate every morning and allows the currency to fluctuate up to 0.5 percent from that level.
