RTRS:Rouble eases beyond 30 vs dollar, stocks down 8.7 pct
Aug 9 (Reuters) - The Russian rouble weakened beyond the psychologically important mark of 30 versus the dollar for the first time since January on Tuesday, while the stock market staged its biggest daily fall since early 2009.
By 0930 GMT, the rouble eased 3.7 percent to 30.07 versus the dollar RUBUTSN=MCX after briefly hitting 30.20.
Against the euro, the rouble lost 3.96 percent, trading at 42.78 EURRUBTN=MCX, and gave up 3.75 percent to 35.77 to the euro-dollar basket RUS=MCX, also recording its biggest single day decline since the basket was introduced in February, 2005. [ID:nLDE7780E8]
The dollar-based RTS .IRTS index was down 8.7 percent at 1,514.15, a level last seen in early October. The rouble-traded MICEX index fell 7.42 percent to 1,388.77, its lowest since September. (Reporting by Andrey Ostroukh, Editing by Alfred Kueppers)
