MW: Nymex oil futures move lower in electronic trading

SYDNEY (MarketWatch) -- Light sweet crude oil futures drifted lower in Nymex electronic trading on Thursday, with investors taking a break after pushing the contract sharply higher in regular New York trading in the previous session. Oil futures were trading down 26 cents at $87.32 a barrel. "We believe that energy prices will likely finish the week in a sideways drift, as the weaker dollar should provide an element of support, while ongoing misgivings about the slowing global macro picture will conversely limit any kind of protracted advance," said energy analysts at MF Global.
