LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European stock markets rose in early trading Tuesday, tracking gains for Asian stocks after monthly data on Chinese factory output showed a slight improvement. Among shares on the move, security firm G4S PLC UK:GFS +4.75% rose 5.1% in London after posting a rise in first-half profit, and Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC UK:RBS +3.05% RBS -5.58% gained 3% as bank stocks rose across the board. The Stoxx Europe 600 index XX:SXXP +1.77% rose 1.5% to 228.33, the U.K.'s FTSE 100 index UK:UKX +1.50% climbed 1.2% to 5,156.88, the French CAC 40 index FR:PX1 +1.14% rose 1.6% to 3,100.99 and the German DAX 30 index DX:DAX +1.75% climbed 1.2% to 5,538.96.
